Apple iPhone 5S out of stock on Airtel in less than a day

Apple introduced its much awaited iPhone 5S and 5C in India on November 1, 2013 with much fanfare. Both these smartphone are being offered through Airtel and Reliance Communications (RCOM) as well. The pricing of iPhone 5S is Rs. 53,500 for the 16GB model, Rs. 62,500 for the 32GB model and Rs. 71,500 for the 64GB model. While the iPhone 5c which comes in Blue, Green, Pink, Yellow and White costs Rs. 41,900 for the 16GB model and Rs. 53,500 for the 32GB model.

As per The Economic Times, Airtel has announced that it ran out of stocks for the Apple iPhone 5S in less than a day. The iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c have both got unprecedented demand in the country as per Airtel . The telecom service provider also trying to replenish the stocks at the earliest but the Diwali weekend is delaying its efforts.

The report also quotes an Airtel spokesperson that mentions that the stock of Apple iPhone 5S has run out in many places, including Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh. So far there is no word on the exact number of units sold via any of the operators.

To woo the Indian customers, RCOM too has come out with an enticing option for the new iPhones in the town. The company is offering both Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C (16GB variants) for free with a two year contract.
