After launching the BlackBerry Z3 in Indonesia, the company is now planning to launch this smartphone in India. As per our sources, the BlackBerry Z3 will be launched in the coming few days and will be priced around Rs 12,000.
The BlackBerry Z3 was introduced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014, following which it went on sale in Indonesia. BlackBerry Z3 features a 5-inch display and comes with BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2.1. It is the first device made under the Fozconn-BlackBerry partnership.
BlackBerry Z3 has a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 along with 1.5GB of RAM. It has an 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 32 GB via microSD. The smartphone packs in a 2,500mAh. For camera, BlackBerry Z3 comes with a 5MP rear camera and a 1.1 MP front-facing camera.
BlackBerry is trying to make a comeback in the smartphone race through its BlackBerry 10 OS. The first device based on this operating system was the BlackBerry Z10. The company had recently slashed the price of this smartphone to Rs. 17,000 and in turn, created a lot of ripples in the market.
At the MWC 2014, BlackBerry had also showcased the BlackBerry Q20 device, which is slated to be launched in the second half of the year.
In addition, we are already hearing rumors regarding the BlackBerry Q30 being in the works.
BlackBerry Z3 will be the most cost-effective BlackBerry 10 smartphone in India from the Canadian smartphone maker. Though we are looking forward to see how the market reacts to this offering, we feel that BlackBerry is still sought after by QWERTY lovers and a similar priced offering in that segment will get them better results.
