Fitbit has launched its next generation of fitness trackers, even with the Charge HR still going strong in the market. The new trackers are the Flex 2 and the Charge 2.

The Fitbit Charge 2 sports a larger monochrome display and features Fitbit's trademark PurePulse heart rate monitoring technology that tracks your heart rate no matter what you are doing- working out, sleeping, walking, etc.

Personalization and accessorizing is a big part of the new line up with Fitbit offering interchangable bands. It is Fitbit's ploy to "give a reason for people to wear it all the time."

Charge 2 builds up on the success of the Charge HR. It offers multi-sport tracking so that your fitness metrics can be better analyzed for better results. Select the exercise you are about to undertake and the Charge 2 will adjust its monitoring methods accordingly. You can also set intervals and pauses while working out.

The Charge 2 comes with integrated GPS. Turn it on and it will give you real-time metrics of the distance travelled, pace, average pace and calories burnt. The device can automatically understand what activity you are undertaking- be it a walk, a run, a jog or even a session on the treadmill. It will record the information and show it to you after the workout is done.

But where the Charge 2 really excels is the heart-rate monitoring category. Building up on the Charge HR's PurePulse technology, the Charge 2 will help maintain your cardiovascular health. For this, the device makes use of a globally accepted clinical measurement for cardiovascular health called 'VO2 Max'. It is basically the optimum amount of oxygen being absorbed by your blood. The Charge 2 will monitor your heart rates at all times, from working out to sleeping, and match them with the VO2 Max readings to grade you on your health.

On the other hand, The Flex 2 is the first fitness tracking device meant for swimmers. Its waterproof up to 15 meters and can measure laps, provided you put in the size of the pool.

The Flex 2 doesn't have a display, but an array of 5 LED lights that light up different combinations to give you notification alerts and daily goal-tracking, coupled with haptic feedback.

Both Charge 2 and Flex 2 comes with a lot of of customization options. TPU bands for protecting them from the forces of nature, leather bands to sport them at formal outings, rubber bands for when you actually work out. Possibilities are numerous.

The Charge 2 is priced at Rs 14,999 while the Flex 2 is available for Rs 9,499. Both are available online exclusively at Amazon, along with offline retailers.
