Reliance Communications (RCOM) was the first Indian telecom company to start selling smartphone on a contract. However, their experience at that time was not very pleasant and hence they and the other telecom companies have refrained from offering such scheme in the past few years.

Looks like things are now changing as Reliance Communications ushers in the new iPhone 5S and 5C for no upfront cost provided you take a two year contract.

Under this scheme, the iPhone 5S will be yours to take for Rs. 2,999 per month and and Rs 2,599 for 5C (16 GB models. However, for buying the iPhone under this scheme the customers will have to sign a 2 year contract with RCOM. Customers opting for 32GB or 64GB variant of iPhone 5s will have to pay a down-payment of Rs 10,000 and Rs 18,000 respectively.

The subscribers, who buy the Apple iPhone under this scheme will be entitled to get unlimited voice calls, SMS (TRAI Cap on daily SMS will remain intact) and 3G data, now that is tempting. The offer is only available to people who already have an ICICI or HDFC bank credit cards.

If one wants to buy these marvels without the contract ties, they can do so for a minimum price of Rs 53,500 for iPhone 5S and Rs 41,900 for iPhone 5C (16 GB). The accessories of these phones are also slated to come today.

There is a gala event being organised at Select City Walk in Delhi to welcome these two smartphones from Apple.
