The Taiwanese maker HTC is going through turbulent times. The company had launched HTC One in February 2013, which got them a lot of media buzz but it failed to keep up the momentum.

There are already rumours that HTC will soon be launching the successor of HTC One, which might be dubbed HTC One+/ HTC M8/ HTC One 2. Apart from that it is believed that HTC is also working on a mid-range smartphone.

So far there is no word on what this smartphone will be called (we won’t be surprised if it is a part of the HTC’s Desire series) but it is likely to come with MediaTek’s Octa-Core processor.

In addition, the smartphone is likely to be available in vibrant color options as yellow, orange, cyan and red. It is noteworthy, that usually it is Nokia which offers such exuberant colors for their mobile devices.

As per the leaks, the alleged HTC device will come with 5-inch 720p HD screen, 1.5GB of RAM and will run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with HTC’s own Sense UI 5.5. It will also pack in 8MP camera.

Going by HTC’s track record, we think that the company will end up pricing the smartphone at a slight premium (say about Rs. 25,000). [ IntoMobile via ePrice ]
