News reports regarding the Samsung Galaxy S5 have been doing the round for quite sometime now. It has been touted that the Galaxy S5 will come with a 2K display.

Though Samsung has not officially confirmed this piece of news, but it has indicated that it is working on smartphone with QHD (2560 x 1440) AMOLED display. This revelation was made by Samsung at the recently held Semiconductor and Display Technology Roadmap Seminar.

Furthermore, at the same platform Samsung also admitted that it is process of making smartphone with 4K or UHD resolution (we are talking about 3480 x 2160). This will result in a pixel density of more than 700 ppi. However, the company has not indicated any time frame by which we will be able to see smartphones and phablets with such a high resolution.

Samsung is already offering a smartphone with a curved display. It is not available in India right now but we are certain this device when launched will be priced nothing less than a bomb. Similarly, we do not hope that the 2K and 4K display smartphones or phablet will come in cheap.

So you tell us what do you think of this trend of 2K and 4K smartphones; are you excited about the same? Also are you willing to pay through your nose for the same?
