Apple Inc. is going to complete 10 years in 2017 and the annual release of their next iPhone’s is a much awaited affair. As such, many sources and reports have been revealed in the past couple of months that speculate on how Apple is going to redefine the smartphone space with the new iPhone’s.

According to The Wall Street Journal , Apple will unveil the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus along with a high-end premium ‘iPhone X’ as well. The anniversary edition iPhone, if you will, is said to be released at a price of $1,000 making it the most expensive iPhone ever.

The report also states that Samsung might be providing Apple with curved OLED displays that will be a part of this exclusive ‘iPhone X’. It will also come with a revamped design and will feature bezel-less display.

The WSJ also suggests that this high-end, ‘iPhone X’ will ditch Apple’s proprietary Lightning port and will instead adopt USB-C. Considering Apple updated the MacBook Pro with the same, it’s likely that Apple might want to use the industry standard on its iPhone as well.

Another report by Fast Company states that the next batch of iPhone’s are “also likely to get a memory upgrade from the current iPhone 7 line.” The memory upgrade might come in the form of a new memory capacity variant, 512GB or it could just mean that the “iPhone X” will have a new and faster memory. Some sources have also told Fast Company, that the premium iPhone would be called iPhone 8 and will be accompanied by a 4.7-inch iPhone 7S and a 5.5-inch iPhone 7S Plus.

The “iPhone X” or “iPhone 8” will be forged from stainless steel instead of aluminum and the rear panel will be crafted out of glass. It is also rumoured that Apple will drop the home button from the iPhone and will instead go with a touch sensitive button underneath the display.

A recent report from Nikkei is synonymous with the above reports as it also mentions that the Cupertino giant will launch three iPhone’s this fall. Two of them will come with LED panel and a bigger iPhone will launch with a 5.8-inch OLED panel. The report also reaffirms the fact that Apple will raise the prices of its new iPhone’s when they launch.

Apple’s 10th anniversary is a big deal for the smartphone industry as the company is regarded as bringing a consumer friendly side to smartphones and mobilised the world with their iPhone’s.
