It’s the time of year when every smartphone manufacturer is preparing for the biggest expo held annually in Barcelona, the Mobile World Congress. Among the many awaited smartphones that are slated to launch during the MWC this year, LG’s flagship will surely be unveiled at the event.

LG has sent out press invites on Twitter and Facebook stating, “See More, Play More” over a silhouette render of what can be the display of LG G6. The invite showcases fireworks above a lake and is pretty minimalistic with the details – February 26, 12:00 Barcelona.

The LG G6 is anticipated to feature a bezel-less 5.7-inch QHD (2880×1440 pixels), 18:9 aspect ratio display powered by the Qualcomm’s brand-new Snapdragon 835 supported with 6GB RAM.

According to some rumours, LG will also scrape the modular design and aluminium finish and instead go with glass finish on the back considering the previous flagship, LG G5 failed to attract sales. Additionally, The G6 has also been speculated to be waterproof and come with LG’s new ‘heat-pipe’ cooling technology which conducts heat away from the processor by using copper tubes. This is a similar method used in laptops and desktops to disperse the heat produced.

Furthermore, it is expected that the LG G6 will come with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0 support as well as wireless charging capabilities. It might run on a custom UI atop Android Nougat 7.1.1.

Along with LG, Samsung, HMD Global, Xiaomi, Lenovo and Sony are also expected to be present at the four-day trade show which draws a lot of tech enthusiasts every year.

LG is in dire need of a hit as its G5 and V20 smartphones have failed to capture the imagination of the public. The G5 was all intents the first mainstream modular smartphone in the world, while the V20 became the first phone to be launched with Android Nougat. It even pipped Google's Pixel smartphone but it hasn't been able to crack the market.
