Here’s what we are expecting at the event

Nokia

Nokia

Nokia is expected to showcase as many as six new devices at the Mobile World Congress 2014. From what we have heard from the rumours, there will be a new flagship smartphone in the form of Nokia Lumia 1820 which is speculated to be a 5.2 device powered by Snapdragon 805 processor and 3,400mAh battery. 

Another device that has already become the talk of the town is the Nokia X. It is said to be a budget Android device. 

Samsung

The Korean smartphone is likely to announce its new flagship smartphone  - Samsung Galaxy S5. Also as per news reports Samsung might end up showing not one but two smartwatches at MWC 2014. It is also expected that these smartwatches might run on Tizen and not Android.

Along with it, Samsung is also believed to unveil its first Tizen smartphone at the MWC 2014.

 Some of the earlier reports had suggested that Samsung will be launching Galaxy Grand Neo at MWC, but the same has already been showcased at the Samsung Forum.

 On the tablet front, we can look forward to the 13.3-inch large slate with Android and Windows dual-boot abilities at this event.

Facebook may not announce something new at the event but the fact that Mark Zuckerberg is delivering a keynote at MWC 2014, makes us feel really excited. We are looking forward to what he will have to share and hope you too want to hear more from this social networking maverick.

LG is expected to showcase its G Pro 2 at the event. The company has also posted a teaser image on its Facebook page, which appears to be that of LG G2 mini. We will not be surprised if it is indeed launched at this event. It is also expected that its recently launched L III smartphone will be displayed at the MWC 2014.

HTC

The MWC 2014 is a make or break affair for this Taiwanese maker. The company is expected to show its new flagship smartphone, which has been codenamed M8. A year ago, HTC did manage to make a big splash at the MWC 2013 with the launch of HTC One and it will be interesting to see if it manages to do the same this year too.

Sony is also expected to unveil a bunch of devices at the MWC 2014. From whatever we have heard so far, we are expecting to meet the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet at the event. As per the buzz, there will also be a smartphone which has been codenamed Sirius (or the Sony Xperia Z2) going live at this event.

 

The Japanese smartphone maker is also believed to be working on a Windows Phone 8 handset but at this point we are not clear if we will get to see it at this event or will be made to wait a wee bit longer for the same.

BlakcBerry is expected to showcase its budget BlackBerry 10 smartphone at the event. As per the grapevine this device will be called the BlackBerry Z3.

Huawei

Rumors have it that the Chinese mobile maker is expected to launch the Huawei MediaPad X1 at this event. There are also speculations doing the rounds that Huawei will be launching the successor to Ascend P6 – Huawei Ascend P7 – at the MWC 2014. It has already posted a teaser video which says, “We are ready to amaze the world again!”

Earlier news reports also hint at Huawei gearing to enter the smartwatch segment soon and it is expected that their first smartwatch might be on display at this event.

There are also rumors doing the rounds that Google might launch the Google Nexus 10 at this event. Grapevine has it that this device is being produced by LG.

This Chinese maker is said to be working on a new phablet device, which might be unveiled at the MWC 2014. A new Mozilla phone is also a possibility.
