Ryzen 7-1700X beats the Intel Core i7 6900K in benchmarks
AMD is on the verge of unveiling its new line of ‘Ryzen’ CPU’s next month and the leaks for the CPU just keep on coming. In a recent set of benchmarks, leaked by WCCFTech, it looks like this CPU is going to pack a serious punch and will not burn a hole in your pocket at the same time.
Sysmark and CPUMark numbers test out the 8-core, 16-thread Ryzen 7-1700X, which tells us that this behemoth can easily take on Intel’s Core i7 6900K and 7700K. Ryzen comes with a 3.4GHz base clock and a 3.8GHz boost clock. The CPU is also expected to come with 95W of TDP and a 16MB L3 cache.
In single threaded performance, Ryzen 7-1700X comes really close to the Intel Core i7-6900K, which is clocked at 3.20GHz, however, it fails to take over the recently unveiled 4.2GHz Core i7-7700K.

When compared to Ryzen 1700X’s predecessor, however- The octa-core FX-8350, the Ryzen 1700X is an impressive 37% faster.
Other tests reveal more hidden goodies about the soon-to-be-unveiled processor. We’re seeing a massive architectural improvement with better performance and lower power consumption.
In the Integer math test, the Ryzen 7-1700X completely annihilates Intel's top-end Core i7-6900K. Also in this test,

However, the Ryzen 7-1700X doesn’t outperform the Intel Core i7’s in every test. The Intel processors still pack a hard punch when it comes to physics and prime numbers.
You’ll need to take these numbers with a pinch of salt, as these are not the official test results. However, from what we can gauge, it seems like the CPU packing will pack a serious punch.
You also cannot ignore the fact that this CPU is going to be priced at $389, according to leaks by WFFCTech. In comparison, a Core i7 6900K is priced at approximately $1000 as of now.
