After the disastrous LG G5, LG is putting all its eggs in one basket- the upcoming LG G6 slated for launch in MWC in February this year. According to rumours from South Korea, the G6, apart from sporting the latest and best in hardware specs, will also be the first non-Google phone to come with Google Assistant. With Samsung's in-house Bixby AI assistant rumoured to be featured heavily in its Galaxy S8 flagship phone, LG is also stepping up its AI game.

The Google Assistant was introduced in the Google Pixel phones last year. It was exclusive to the Pixel phones in the sense that it came baked into the device's custom UI conceptualised and designed by Google. It is one of the most powerful virtual assistants out there right now, miles ahead of Apple's Siri in terms of the information it can leverage and contextual conversations it can have with the user.

The Google Assistant will also feature heavily in the upcoming LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style, both slated for release on February 9. They will also be the first smartwatches to be powered by Android Wear 2.0. Google worked with LG to make these wearables, much like how the Nexus phones were made.

The LG G6 , on the other hand, will be released in MWC in Barcelona on February. LG has already sent press invites for the launch. It will reportedly start shipping by early March, beating the Galaxy S8 to market by a month.
