The mighty Xiaomi Mi Max 2 launched in India for Rs 16,999

For Rs 16,999, you get a full HD 6.4-inch IPS LCD display with Gorilla Glass 3 on top. That's not the usual display you see in phones. Let's just call it an immersive slate. Now, a phone as big as that will need an equally bigger battery. So, Xiaomi has put a mammoth 5,300mAh, which is significantly more than its predecessor.
At the launch event, Xiaomi claimed the phablet can last for two days. It can playback videos for 18 hours, play music for 10 days, 13 hours 26 minutes of gaming, and 57 hours of call time. These are numbers unheard of in
The battery life of the phone is also enhanced by its use of Qualcomm's best mid-range processor which is coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Thankfully, Charging the mammoth battery will not be a time consuming task, Xiaomi has put in support for Quick Charge 3.0 which gives a day's worth of juice in just an hour.
The camera on the
Xiaomi has put in stereo speakers in the Mi Max 2. When in the landscape mode, the phone automatically switches to the stereo speakers. The IR blaster also makes a comeback.
The phone runs on MIUI 8.0 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. That brings in features like split-screen and quick switch, which will help users with tiny hands , operat e the phone better. The one-handed mode has also improved. MIUI now comes with Quick Ball with support for up to 21 apps which can be launched in just a tap.
The phone has been Made In India and will retail for Rs 16,999 . It comes in a matte black colour variant. It will be available across all online and offline retail partners of Xiaomi from July 27th. Additionally, you will also get 100GB of 4G data from Reliance Jio.
