Along expected lines OnePlus has launched the OnePlus 3T which is an upgraded version of the OnePlus 3. The phone is going to launch in the United States on 22nd November and in Europe on 28th November. They haven't announced when it's coming to Asia or India, for that matter.

That being said, multiple sources have told Gizmodo India that the phone is highly likely to launch in December in India.

Sources close to Gizmodo India have revealed the phone is likely to be launched in December. "The phones will arrive in India in December," revealed a source to Gizmodo India.

This sounds logical because the OnePlus has indeed previously grappled with supply chain issue with sales of the OnePlus 3 being temporarily halted in Europe and Hong Kong for a month earlier this year and there have been rumours that it was struggling to source adequate number of AMOLED displays for the launch of this phone.

As far as core hardware is concerned, the OnePlus 3T is basically an enhanced version of the OnePlus 3. It looks the same as the OnePlus 3. It will be available in the same colors including two new colours- a Soft Gold finish and a Dark Gunmetal Grey finish.

The big change comes in the internals as now the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 821, instead of the 820 on the OnePlus 3. Snapdragon 821 is the same processor found in the Google Pixel it brings a couple of new things to the table. It adds support for Google Daydream VR and combined with the AMOLED screen, the OnePlus 3T is armed for the VR future. It adds Qualcomm's latest generation Electronic Image Stabilisation for video, which leverages information from the gyroscope and a bunch of other sensors to stabilise the video. At the same time, it is the faster with a core clock speed of 2.35GHz.

The phone also comes with a bigger battery. OnePlus has upgraded the battery from a 3,000mah power pack to a 3,400mAh power pack. And it also supports the dash charging technology which OnePlus claims can give a day's worth of juice with just 30 minutes of charging.

On the back, the phone retains the same 16-megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilisation. For video, it gets Electronic Image Stabilsation. On the front, OnePlus has replaced the 8-megapixel camera to a 16-megapixel camera for an upgraded selfie and video chat experience.

Some of the other features include the 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display, 6 GB RAM. OnePlus also upgraded the internal storage from 64 GB on the OnePlus 3 to up to 128GB on the OnePlus 3T. As for connectivitiy, the OnePlus 3T has 4G-LTE, VoLTE, Bluetooth and WiFi.

The Phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow powered by OnePlus' Oxygen OS but the company promises Android 7.0 Nougat will land on the devices very soon. A community build running Android 7.0 Nougat is already out for beta testing and it's only a while a final build will be released.

The OnePlus 3T also replaces the previous OnePlus 3 and current owners of the OnePlus 3 may feel a little dejected considering the upgrade to the flagship is landing just 6 months after the OnePlus 3 released in June. OnePlus head of marketing Kyle Kiang told The Verge that the reason for coming out with an upgrade within such a short frame of time is because the company felt it could "provide a better experience to its customers with the updated model and it didn't want to wait a full year to do so."
