Xiaomi Mi 6 could be like the Mi Mix
It may happen that the phone leaked in the render might be the lower-end variant of the Mi 6. The flagship variant has been long rumoured to sport curved edges on both sides.
Moreover, we have to say there is no Mi branding on the front (which is the side which is shown in the render), hence we cannot fully autheticate the claims. That being said, there was no Mi branding even on the Mi Mix. The phone in the render does seem to run a version of MIUI which is Xiaomi’s custom UI - Mi UI.
It’s going to be a long wait to get our hands on the real deal though. Unlike last year, Xiaomi will not make an appearance at this year’s MWC, which is due to start next week. Last year, the company unveiled the Mi 5 at MWC. The phone was showcased by their former global VP Hugo Barra who has recently shifted to Facebook leading the Oculus team. This year, it seems the Chinese company will be a no-show.
The Mi 6 has been spotted online before and it is rumoured to come out in three completely different variants. Among the three, two of them might be powered by the Snapdragon 835 while the other one could be powered by MediaTek Helio X30. The flagship variant is reported to sport a dual-curve design much like the Mi Note 2.
Like always, we advise you to take this rumour with a pinch of salt.
