The newest addition to Samsung's Galaxy line of tablets has made its way to India, both in the 7-inch and 8-inch avatars. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 is going to make the company's tablet line-up really confusing for a lot of people, especially with names like Galaxy Tab 3 211 for the 7-inch and Galaxy Tab 3 310/311 for the 8-inch -- yes, the 8-incher itself has 2 variants: a Wi-Fi-only model and a Wi-Fi+3G model.

The 7-Inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 211

The Galaxy Tab 3 211 is the model with the 7-inch TFT touchscreen with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels (170 ppi density) and features a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory (expandable via microSD up to 32GB), 3-megapixel rear camera, 1.9-megapixel front camera and a 4000mAh battery that claims 8 hours of talk-time. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and comes with the custom TouchWiz Nature UX 2.0. This tablet also features a SIM card slot for 3G connectivity as well as phone calls, along with Wi-Fi for internet. For a price of Rs. 17,745, it will go head-to-head with the Asus Fonepad, which has similar specs and costs around Rs. 16,000.

The 8-Inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 310 & Galaxy Tab 3 311

The Galaxy Tab 3 310 comes with an 8-inch IPS touchscreen with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels (180 ppi density) and features a 1.5GHz dual-core Exynos 4412 processor, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB internal memory (expandable via microSD up to 64GB), 5-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front camera and a 4450mAh battery that claims 11 hours of talk-time. This too runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and comes with the custom TouchWiz Nature UX 2.0. The Tab 3 310 has only Wi-Fi and retails at Rs. 21,945.

There's another version of the 8-incher, the Galaxy Tab 3 311, which comes with a SIM card for 3G internet and calling. The rest of the specs stay the same. This model will be priced at Rs. 25,725. It's mighty close to the Galaxy Note 5100 at Rs. 29,000, which throws in a stylus, a quad-core processor and more RAM at that price.
