Report: Samsung Will Make a Phone with a Curved Display in October

Samsung had previously made the Galaxy Nexus, which if you remember was a phone with a curved glass screen. This upcoming phone would presumably have a display that's actually curved.

The purpose isn't exactly clear-we're not going to go from our phones right now to twisty bendy phones overnight-but DJ Lee, Samsung's mobile business head of strategic marketing said at an Galaxy Note 3 event in Korea that:

"We plan to introduce a smartphone with a curved display in South Korea in October"

So who knows when (if at all) this curved phone will make it stateside. Remember though, Samsung has promised bendy phones in the past so don't be surprised if its next bendy phone isn't as flexible as you'd like. Still. Progress! Or something. [Reuters]

Getting hands-on

So we know that the Samsung A8 is packed with some great specs and costs Rs 32,500. But how does it really feel? We get some hands-on time with the device to find out.
The device immediately feels light at just 151 grams, though it also does feel sturdy. The 5.7in display leaves very little bezel, just 2.5mm of it, which gives the A8 a premium look. The home button is also a finger print sensor that activates on touch, rather than swipe.
