Waterproof 6.4-inch Sony Xperia Z Ultra Now in India For Rs. 44,990

Want a monster handset with a FullHD screen that's dust-resistant, water-proof and decked out with top-of-the-line hardware? The Sony Xperia Z Ultra, which has just gone up for order on online stores in India, will get you all that for Rs. 44,990.

The smartphone is packed with some killer features:
-6.4-inch Triluminous Display with mobile Bravia engine and shatter-proof, scratch-resistant glass (1920x1080 pixels, 344 ppi)
-Handwriting recognition, compatible with any pencil as well as capacitive stylus and metal pens with a tip diameter over 1mm.

-2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor
-2GB RAM
-16GB internal memory, microSD up to 64GB

-Sony's ClearAudio+ and Xloud modes for enhanced audio
-Sony WALKMAN, Albums, Movies, Reader apps pre-installed

That's a lot of tech, but the real seller here is that it's the slimmest FullHD touchscreen with a rugged build quality. It has an IP55 and IP58 rating for dust resistance and water proofing. And at 6.5mm thin, it's super sleek.

While it's not officially launched yet, It's already available with an additional 16GB microSD card from Saholic. The listing also indicates that the MRP of the device is going to be Rs. 46,990, but it currently has a small discount.

Busy July

The second half of every year is usually not considered to be very busy as far as smartphone announcements are concerned, but that notion is quickly changing. Apple’s iPhones and the Samsung Galaxy Note range were the only notable flagship offerings that would break cover during the second half of the year, but from this year we have the OnePlus 2, while Motorola also releases its flagships in the second half of the year. This month in particular has been very busy with the arrival of the OnePlus 2, the Moto X Style, Moto X Play and the Moto G. Regional player YU also released the Yureka Plus this month, so we have seen a myriad of handsets in July. At the same time, we have also seen some existing handsets making the headlines this month for the wrong reasons, so we have a look at them all.
