OnePlus 5T is here to save your money and kidney
Till two years ago, experts were predicting how high-end smartphones will be able to handle things like 4K streaming, immersive virtual reality gaming, and seamless multi-tasking in the near future. Heck, most devices are doing it already and how! And, while a few smartphones offering such features cost a fortune (quite literally), there’s a brand that is enabling you to see life with a new view without having to give up a limb for it. No brownie points for guessing this one, OnePlus has been quite a rage lately.

And just when you thought what could be better than its flagship model OnePlus 5 - with all its gimmicky features at half the price of its competition - the brand announced to extend the awesomeness with its newest offering – OnePlus 5T. OnePlus 5T will be launched at a global unveiling event in New York City on November 16 and we can’t help but wonder what the brand will surprise its fan club with. The teaser video looks dreamy and aspirational; check it out yourself:

However visually compelling, it still leaves us speculating what the OnePlus 5T will bring to the table. We dug deeper and found it out for you. Thank us later!

Say hello to a bezel-less display

And an extraordinary 18:9 aspect ratio instead of a regular 16:9. The OnePlus 5T will boast of a 6.01-inch full-HD optic AMOLED display with a 1080 x 2160 pixel resolution and 401 PPI. The optic AMOLED screen of the OnePlus 5T will further support both sRGB and DCI-P3 wide colour gamut, popularly known as Sunlight display: an integrated software system that adjusts mechanically to harsh light to assist an exceptional viewing experience.

An easy unlock with a back-facing fingerprint scanner

The OnePlus 5T will have its fingerprint scanner mounted at the back, unlike a front-seated one in its predecessor, OnePlus 5. Such a placement allows the front design to be all screen and almost no bezel. Sporting a 6.01-inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top, the phone would be longer but not wider and so, will occupy a smaller footprint when in the hands.

Welcome to the world of better pictures

If you’ve been using OnePlus 5, you know what we mean. The OnePlus 5T will feature a primary 16-megapixel camera, supported by a 20-megapixel telephoto camera. Now here’s the real deal – with dual camera system on-board, OnePlus 5T will let you take photos with shallow depth of field or bokeh effect through a specialized portrait mode. Pro users will be delighted to find a dedicated Pro Mode. It will also let you record 4K videos and shoot in RAW file format.

The flagship model will come with a 3,300mAh battery powered by a proprietary Dash charging technology. It will be available with 6GB and 8GB RAM options and internal storage options of 64GB and 128GB.

While there has been no indication about the cost of OnePlus 5T, the fans are hoping it to be as reasonably priced as the brand’s earlier models and save their kidneys. However, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau in a separate tweet tipped that OnePlus 5T may be more expensive than the OnePlus 5 due to the rising cost of components. But we’re sure whatever the cost will be, it’ll justify the amazing features the phone is coming with. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and wait for the launch to happen on the 16 th of November. You can livestream it here and have an early access sale on and on 21st Nov, 4 pm. Can this get any better?
