Xiaomi launches 32GB storage variant of the Mi Max 2 for Rs. 12,999

Xiaomi took to social media to announce the launch of the new variant of the Mi Max 2. While the device is originally priced at Rs. 14,999, it will be available at an introductory price of Rs. 12,999 starting from September 20 at 12PM exclusively from Amazon India, Mi.com and Mi Home stores.
There's nothing more separating the two devices though , except for the storage capacity. And the price tag. The bigger Mi Max 2 retails for Rs 16,999 and Xiaomi is offering the smaller one for four grands less. Xiaomi has not mentioned whether the introductory price of Rs. 12,999 will be limited only to the first sale though.
And the phone is only available in black colour variant though. Xiaomi could have used the opportunity to launch a new colour variant of course.
To recall , the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with MIUI 8 skinned on top. The device features a 6.44-inch full HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
In terms of performance, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is powered by Xiaomi's favourite octa-core mid-range Qualcomm processor clubbed with Adreno 506 GPU and 4GB RAM. It comes with microSD expansion support up to 128GB.
There is a 12-megapixel primary camera with a Sony IMX386 sensor, the one that's there on the Mi 6, phase detection autofocus, f/2.2 aperture and a dual-LED flash.
On the front, it sports a 5MP secondary camera with 85-degree wide angle lens and f/2.0 aperture.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is powered by a huge 5,300mAh battery and comes with Quick Charge 3.0 support. In terms of connectivity, the device comes with 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, Infrared port, and a USB Type - C port.
