Solar Impulse 2 Successfully Crossed the Pacific Ocean to Land in California
After taking off from Hawaii at 6:30am, pilot Bertrand Piccard
reported that he felt great
The solar-powered aircraft is working on circumnavigating the planet, and was grounded 9 months ago after its
record breaking trip from Japan to Hawaii
Now, pilot Andre Borschberg, will take over for the next leg of the journey, from California to New York. From there, there'll figure out the next destination, based on weather and what they've learned about the aircraft, as they continue on their trip to Abu Dabi, where they first took off in March 2015.
