Apple sold out the Rs 1 lakh iPhone X under few minutes
Apple's latest premium flagship product, iPhone X was sold out minutes after being available in the market. The pre-booking for iPhone X sales started on Friday, the device is available starting at Rs 89,000 in India.
Despite the hefty price tag, the most expensive smartphone in the world was sold out within minutes. Apple started taking pre-booking for iPhone X at 12:00 in California. Apple CEO, Tim Cook believes that the iPhone X is the biggest leap forward since the launch of the original iPhone.
India is one of the first countries where Apple is launching the iPhone X. The device will start shipping from November 3rd in Silver and Space Grey colors. Apple fans around the world are posting about their recent purchase on the social media. The device was sold out within minutes in the US, UK, and Hong Kong markets.
Apple published the official statement stating the global supply-demand gap of iPhone X will be fixed by March next year. iPhone X features an OLED display with slim bezels, unique facial recognition technology and state of the art camera technology. Apple has played a smart move by making the flagship device available through a flash sale during the shopping season across the globe.
The most happening markets for Apple have put customers on the waitlist of four to six week for booking the iPhone X. The initial response for the iPhone X has surprised the Apple fans around the world. The carrier-specific iPhone X devices had a limited stock in the US. The delivery window for customers that have booked carrier-specific devices has shifted to a month into the future.
For the very first time, Apple managed to sell out the entire inventory of pre-booking devices under few minutes. The company confirms that the Apple authorized resellers have a dedicated stock of iPhone X devices. There is a higher chance that customers that have pre-booked their device with the authorized reseller will get the early delivery of the device as compared to the online buyers.
Most users that have pre-booked the device will get the delivery of their device in the first quarter of 2018. Apple had repeatedly built over three million iPhones for this release. The 64GB version of the iPhone X costs Rs 89,000 while 256GB version is priced at Rs 1,02,000. The shares of Cupertino-based tech giant rose by 3.5% in the New York after the sale.
